Participatory Mapping to Identify and Support At-Risk Communications in Emergency Preparedness

Summary:
This project aimed to understand public health emergency preparedness knowledge among community leaders and emergency readiness personnel, as well as preparedness patterns. Targeted interviews were conducted to assess knowledge about shelters, emergency management offices, and trusted agencies for emergency education. The timeline was extended due to Hurricane Maria, completing 21 interviews out of the 20 initially planned.
Results:
Information on preparedness levels and trust in response agencies was collected from communities in Boston and Puerto Rico.
